Spring Home Selling

Make this the year you decide to sell: Get Prepped for Spring.

Selling your home may seem like a daunting task, but don’t sweat it, these simple home selling tricks will get your place looking sharp and buyer ready during the spring months. Now, let’s get the hard part out of the way.

#1 – Letting Go

It’s time to look at your home through the eyes of the potential buyer. Many sellers can find this challenging, and for good reason. It’s the place laughter was shared with loved ones, and the endless family dinners and holiday parties. The best part about memories is you can take them with you. Take a deep breath and allow yourself to find a new home where new memories are made.

#2 – First Impressions

Slowly but surely, you can start looking at your home with less personal attachment. A new home buyer wants to picture themselves in your space. Begin by removing personal items from all the areas in your home. Clear walls of picture frames, empty closets and spruce up corners. You want to create a space that is open and inviting. A storage unit is a useful place to keep your belongings safe during the selling process.

Another key to creating a blank canvas is to replace bold accents with light neutral colors. A little paint can go a long way and is rather inexpensive. Paint is an excellent way to freshen up your home.

Last, find time to address the small imperfections that stand out: the leaky faucet, the closet door that’s off its hinges, or outdated electrical outlets, items you or a local handyman can fix. Finish up with a good deep cleaning, remove smells, organize the garage, and call it a day.

#3 – Curb Appeal.

Since April showers bring May flowers, small minor garden and lawn adjustments give your lawn the warm, inviting look it deserves. Adding beauty bark or seasonal flowers to your flower beds allows your buyer to see its full potential. Contact a local garden center or search Google, Pinterest, Instagram, or other social platforms for tips on the best plants for your property. A well-kept home will sell faster than others.

#4 – It’s time to list.

You have done all the work up to this point. Keep your space tidy for last minute showings and let your Realtor handle the rest. Ask questions and keep an open communication throughout the selling process. When it comes time to accept an offer you have the choice to choose your title company. Pacific Alliance Title is your best choice for title insurance and escrow services. We will be the unbiased third party to your transaction and communicate every step of the way.
