Real Estate Tip of the Week: Relationships with Other Agents
The real estate world doesn’t mean you have to fight other agents – rather, working and befriending other agents will actually help not only you succeed – but your clients as well!
Keeping the peace and professionalism as you work with your clients and the other agent in the offer are the key takeaways when building your network and securing a deal.
Build a Solid Reputation
You can’t close a deal alone – you need the help of another agent when you sit at the table with your client. Instead of treating them like competition, treat them like your ally! The real estate industry itself is all about connections and helping out others. Being courteous and professional will send you a long way.
Go that Extra Mile
A real estate transaction is a two way street! You want the buyer and seller to both look good in the transaction.
If you’re a buyer’s agent, that might mean being as transparent as possible with the seller’s agent and working closely to secure earnest money. If you’re a seller’s agent, maybe you work closely with staging companies or professional cleaners to ensure the home is in tip-top shape.
Be a Teacher
Assisting other agents in aspects of the field they need guidance in will greatly benefit both parties. If you’re super comfortable and familiar with first homebuyers or VA loans, help out other agents that might not be as confident as you.
Most real estate agents see it as so: at some point, you’ll run into each other again – so why compete and fight when there is no need? Working closely with other agents will grow your business sphere and in the end, ultimately help you close more deals in an efficient and productive manner!
