Top 3 tips to remember when building your personal brand
Building a personal brand is essential in the digital world, especially for those of us in real estate. We work with some of the best people in our markets, but others should know, too. This business, after all, is all about relationships and making connections.
In the past, getting your name out there was limited to mainly advertisements. These are still a great way to get your name out in front of others, but there are so many other options to explore.
Social media
We talk about this a lot, but it’s the truth. Social media is the No. 1 and easiest way to start building a brand. You have to be active on multiple social media platforms. That means posting daily, commenting on other posts and profiles, and uploading current pictures. The more active you are, the more people will see you and get to know you.
Show that you are human
Finding your ideal customers and partners depends on your authenticity, consistency and quality of your content. People, especially millennials and those in Gen-Z, want to work with partners and brands who care about what they care about. Be honest and personable, and don’t be afraid to admit your mistakes or shortcomings. Sincerity counts for a lot these days.
Be professional
We know this sounds like the opposite of the second tip, but it’s not. It’s still important to give current and potential clients the feeling that they are working with someone who is at the top of their field. Everything people see you do reflects on your business. Make sure you have a quality website for people to look at, and business cards to hand out. Even small things like your recorded voicemail message needs to be polite and professional. Every detail counts, and it could be the difference that wins over your next client.Following these three tips will help you build a personal brand that will result in business. Want to do even more? Here are a few additional strategies to follow that will keep building and strengthening your personal brand. If you stay true to yourself and continue to spotlight what makes you special, success will follow.
