3 ways authenticity helps you win on social

By now, you know how important a social media presence is for any real estate business. Showing up is only half the battle, though. It’s just as important for you to be authentic with your posts.

Just like in real life, people can tell if you’re being genuine in the digital world. If you are putting out some cookie-cutter, generalized content that has no personal touch, people will respond accordingly.

Of course, showing personality online is easier said than done. If you’re struggling to build a following, we put together a list of a few tips on how to be more authentic on social media.

  • Show a personal side. Although you’re looking to increase business, don’t make your posts all about business. Remember, people want to connect with you as a person. Let the world know when you have something positive or negative going on. Odds are someone else is in the same boat and will appreciate knowing they are not alone.
  • Interact with your audience. If someone comments on a post, respond to it. Taking the time to review every comment and respond with a sincere answer goes a long way. This is one of the most overlooked tools for connecting with followers.
  • Post pictures and videos of you and your team. People want to see you, not a stock photo you found on the internet. Some platforms, such as Instagram or YouTube, require this, but you should share some on every platform. It’s good for people to get familiar with you so they can build a sense of trust with you.

Need more advice? Listen to this podcast all about being more authentic on social. Just be yourself and always be ready to lend a helping hand if someone needs it. Be sure to be following us on your favorite platform, too! We can’t wait to see you again – in person and online.
